Thanks! I've been wanting to take the podcast class at my branch for some time now. I've heard snippets of information as I walk past a class in session... My son and some of his friends have been podcasting for monthes now! Now I understand it better. But, I still want to take the class!
I appreciate the opportunity to download an audio book. I don't think I would have tried this on my own. I have been wanting to get into The Cat Who series and now I have one available to me - for three weeks anyway. I wish I could have had this before my Sunday drive to Fort Myers. I would have finished the entire book!
I had thought that I would be just using my MP3 player for music. Huh - now I'm going to be using it for books. I'll be "reading" while I garden; doing two of my favorite things at once! Got to love the effeciency there!

This is beginning to get deep - heavy thinking - ethically....
I strongly feel that artists' deserve to be compensated their works. Therefore, I feel that any form of unauthorized copying is unethical and unfair to the artist and his/her "partners" (managers, producers, etc.). It is depriving him/her of "earned" income.
Unfortunately, trying to get a deal - or something for nothing - tends to be the popular American mindset. Not for me - I believe in earning what you get, getting what you earn and deserve. I think music and videos should be protected legally and technologically! I feel that there should be a payment system for all downloads.
How's that for a definitive answer?
Couldn't get the widget site to cooperate from my home computer today, so I'll bug the tech at work tonight! Hope to have something new to post tomorrow!

As previous indicated, I am truly enjoying this course. I couldn't wait for it to be Tuesday and had to beg my son to quit playing his online game so that I could dive into this weeks' lesson!
As for offering to help anyone - I'm way to inexperienced! I do ask (bother) our branches' computer god for advice and help - far too often!
About working with other; I've been soloing on this quest due to work status! I'm a part-timer who works predomently at night. When I arrive, it's time to relieve the full-timer for her dinner break. The others, on the floor, have been counting down to 5:30 and they rushing to wrap up their 'project du jor'. Not a time for learning or collaborating. So, I've been merrying skipping down the learning path alone! It's been working out just fine. I'm further along then anyone else!
Now to find a camera and take some shots...

Why do I have to go to work? I want to stay home and play on my computer!
I'm currently happy with my weight and work-out program, but I signed up at Traineo anyway. I found it helpful to learn my body mass index and the Kcals I have been working doing said workout! I had better cut back on that evening ice cream or I'll be spending more time on my exercise bike! I shared this site with my daughter who wants to drop a few pounds - "freshman five" in her case.
I emailed my niece info about Dogster. She has extra time on her hands and a bichon she would have fun adding to Dogster this summer! I look forward to visiting her dog and seing photos on this site! I also looked for a certain computer tech's cat to see if he's added new photos of his unique feline to Catster!
And Bottletalk... been wanting to learn more about wines. Well the white ones. Red ones give me a headache. Live gives me enough of those - don't need a recreational beverage added to my Tylenol dependence!
I didn't have enough time to learn some of the number puzzles on The Puzzle Player, but I will go back when I have more time. I did do a good old fashion word search. So long solitaire!
So where's the next lesson - I'm waiting!

Social networking...now I understand why my kids spend so much time in front of their computers! There's so much more to it than I ever imagined. I don't know that its for me. I prefer my privacy and chose to share my thoughts with a select few.
As for the library applications, I can see using Book Mooch. We have far to many books collecting dust and could enjoy the "trading" for others - would make life interesting and receiving mail more enjoyable knowing that there was a book not just a bill arriving! What Should I Read Next? is going to be helpful! I tend to become obssessed with an author, digesting everything he or she has written and need help with where to turn next!
Mashups - why didn't I think of some of the sites suggested. I spent quite a bit of time on MotorMapUSA. My husband is a classic car enthusiast currently resoring a 40 Ford. I found one ready to roll in Longowood. He wants to "visit" it on his day off! Trouble$$S ahead!
Getting exposed to all this new technology has been exciting. But I have to admit, the best part of doing this weeks' lesson was the look on my twenty year old son's face when I was telling him what I had learned. Mom's not ready to be put out to pasture yet!
